Managing your Academics

Managing your Academics

College Students don't get enough credit...

Juggling classwork, a thriving social life, and extracurriculars can be tricky. There are so many things to do and so little time! Here's a guide for staying on top of everything:

Take notes carefully. Take and manage all of your notes in Notion.

Notion is your best friend in the classroom. It's a great way to take notes and organize them, as well as a great tool for creating study guides. The best part? You can access all of your Notions on any computer or mobile device at any time—even offline!

Create a routine:

If you have a break in between classes on Mondays- go to the library, open up your Notion Student Template, and study until your next class. If you can manage to crank out some assignments in that break, you'll feel so much better for the rest of the week.

Create a reminder system:

We all forget things every now and again. The great thing about Notion is you can have reminders on/before your due dates. Some professors will NOT let you hand in late work or dock a large percent of the grade off.

Ensure that you understand the course content with the Syllabus. Keep each class Syllabus in each course "hub" in the Notion Academic Planner.

  • Keep track of due dates for all assignments and quizzes, including those for online courses.

Study in a place with limited distractions. Even if there are distractions, our Notion Academic Template has a built in widget video with Lofi study music.

The first step to managing your academics is finding a quiet place to study. Our Notion Academic Template has a built-in widget video with Lofi study music, so you can quickly find a quiet place where you won't be distracted by any other sounds (or perhaps even the sound of your own mind).

Next up: staying focused on the task at hand! Our Notion Student Template will help keep students motivated by giving them access to an organized work space and tools that make it easy for them to complete assignments on time. You can also use our Gradient Templates when finishing up projects like essays or term papers. Not only to make sure everything gets done, but to give off positive vibes throughout your study session - which might help increase productivity levels as well!

Eat well and get regular exercise. Check out our Gym Planner.

One of the most important things you can do for your health is to eat well and get regular exercise. Check out our Gym Planner! It’s a planner that helps you plan the what you need to work out each day. You can use it to save video workouts as well! The Gym Planner is also a great way to stay motivated and make sure that your exercise goals are on track.

We know that studying is important, but it's also good to keep up with some other aspects of life. If you're not eating right or exercising regularly, there's no way you'll be able to function properly when exams roll around.

Set goals and reward yourself when you reach them. Our Notion Gradient Template has a built in Pomodoro Timer that rewards you with a break.

You can succeed in your academics if you plan ahead, manage your time well, and take advantage of resources available on campus.

  • Plan ahead.

  • Manage your time well.

  • Take advantage of resources on campus and off campus, including resources like Therapy, Google Calendar and Notion.

  • Eat well, get regular exercise (you'll feel more energized for class!), set goals for yourself that are challenging but reasonable—and reward yourself when you reach them!

Conclusion

In the end, the key is to be flexible and work hard. If you don't have time to study for an exam, then come up with a plan B that would allow you to pass with a good grade. If your professor gives you a deadline extension, take advantage of it! Notion can be the key to you achieving success each semester.
